*We welcome you to Worship Sharing Wednesday Nights at 650 (gather)/700pm (start).*
“Every Child Matters” is an advocacy movement that honors Indigenous children forced into government and church-run boarding schools, which aimed to strip away their cultures and identities. It is observed in North America (USA & Canada) on September 30 to recognize generational trauma while demanding truth, healing, and institutional accountability. Quaker meetings operated such boarding school and participated in activities that harmed children, their families, and their communities.
To prepare for the observation on Wednesday, September 30, we will first spend this Wednesday reflecting on the history and the Quaker calling (both what some Quakers believed then and what we are being led to now).
